Starting on June 5th, we will begin updating Kindling every Tuesday.

If you’re interested in getting a sneak peak, head on over to the Toronto Comic Arts Festival on May 5th – 6th. Kindling’s artist, dechanique, will be there with free copies of our Preview Booklet. It includes the Prologue and an introduction to Kindling’s main characters. You can get a sneak peak at the sneak peak here.

Dechanique is currently selling the original comic boards for her comic, La Macchina Bellica. If you are interested, click here or head on over to her store.

The Long-Awaited Spring

I’m happy to report that I finished the first draft of Chapter One last night. We should be on track for a spring release. Which is apt, as the title of the first chapter is The Long-Awaited Spring. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Dechanique is currently working on concept drawings for Kindling‘s main characters. When she completes them, I will put a couple up on the website. That way you can get acquainted with our intrepid heroes before the series officially begins.

Thanks to everyone who has commented, tweeted, and emailed their support for Kindling over the past few weeks. You are all officially “into Kindling before it was cool.” And it will be cool my trend-setting friends, trust and believe.

Welcome to Kindling!

In the world of Kindling, civilization as we know it perished in a global cataclysm that buried humanity beneath the snows of a generations-long winter. Spring has finally come. Set in the American Southwest, Kindling chronicles a group of survivors as they contend with the dangers of the new world and endeavor to rebuild.

Kindling is written by Jason Nerad (Me) and illustrated by dechanique (D), artist of the webcomic La Macchina Bellica.

D and I hope to begin production in January of 2012. Soon after, it will be published as a weekly webcomic. Until then, please check out the prologue for an introduction to the world of Kindling.
